Explanation of the blue light...
Since a lot of people have asked what that is I guess I will fill them in. It is called a Wallaby® 3 Phototherapy System. It is for helping babies with Jaundice get rid of the Bilirubin in their systems.
It is normal for newborns to have bilirubin in their systems as their extra red blood cells they had while still unborn die off. It is responsible for the yellow colour of bruises and the yellow discolouration in jaundice.
John had slightly elevated levels due to bruising while being born and because his blood type is different than my wife's. Rather than leave him in the Hospital we opted to bring him home and do the therapy ourselves.
As of Friday he was taken off the light and we will find out later today if his levels are still low enough to be considered healthy.

The time traveler has arrived...
On November 2nd the first time it was 1:52 AM John Lee Shives was born. Eight minutes later it was 1:00 AM and it would be another 52 minutes until his birth time. So we sorta got to celebrate his birthday already, twice.
7 lbs 7.6 Oz and 18.5 inches long.

What sucks...
Throwing wood when it's 100F outside, stacking that wood in a shed with a metal roof, not spending time with your family when you want to, spending time alone when you want to and knowing your family wants to spend time with you, and last but not least having to punish your kids.
