I snapped this pic with my iPhone a couple of days ago. Nicholas(the big one), upon seeing his brother for the first time since he woke up, said "Daddy I hold him?" He sat there and hugged and kissed him for about a half hour before he said "ok Nick done now".

Explanation of the blue light...

Since a lot of people have asked what that is I guess I will fill them in. It is called a Wallaby® 3 Phototherapy System. It is for helping babies with Jaundice get rid of the Bilirubin in their systems.

It is normal for newborns to have bilirubin in their systems as their extra red blood cells they had while still unborn die off. It is responsible for the yellow colour of bruises and the yellow discolouration in jaundice.

John had slightly elevated levels due to bruising while being born and because his blood type is different than my wife's. Rather than leave him in the Hospital we opted to bring him home and do the therapy ourselves.

As of Friday he was taken off the light and we will find out later today if his levels are still low enough to be considered healthy.
